Howdy, everyone! After college in upstate New York and working in the Big Apple for a year, I moved out to Austin, Texas in 1990 with a job as a graphic artist. I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em, Horns!) School of Education and worked as a fifth grade science/history teacher for 9 years. After some grad work at UT I am a K-3rd grade special education teacher and loving it! I married a southerner named Scott Thomas in '99 and we are expecting our first child this May. I have been living in rural Dripping Springs, Texas now for 6 years. With a population under 2,000, surrounded by ranches, and the Pedernales River in my backyard, it's a far cry from Mamaroneck, but I LOVE IT! I even acquired a little "Texas twang".
