So, since high school, I've lived all over New England as well as in Brooklyn and Manhattan (with a brief stint in the Midwest). I love New England, but my people seem to be in New York City. Go figure. I get out of the Northeast every once and a while, and recently visited the occupied West Bank of Palestine, which is not so happy a place, and Montreal, which mostly is.
I'm an academic librarian and an activist. Had a pretty decent gig for a while at the University of Maine, and currently, I'm working for New York Institute of Technology. Will probably be in school the rest of my life…
Here are two projects that are very close to my heart: http://radicalreference.info/about and http://www.jatonyc.org
The unbearably adorable child pictured is not my spawn but my brother's. He likes me, because, among other things, I baked him a teddy bear cake for his second birthday. The crazy kids overlooking Frenchman's Bay were my students in Maine who became my friends. Much as I might like to "melt with you" all, I don't think I'll be able to make it Saturday night. I'd love to know about any potential informal get-togethers, however. Send me email!
